if the Sixers won't even put Kyle Lowry on the floor in a game like this, he simply needs to retire and be replaced by someone whose job is playing basketball

Near the end of the Eagles’ Sunday collapse at Dallas, I posted on a couple of social media platforms my thought that this searing loss would at least force

Take the decision out of his hands.
Nick Sirianni says he hasn’t contemplated taking play-calling away from Kevin Patullo.

“I thought Kevin did a good job of calling it.”

Need Howie to call the Raiders on the first day of the new league year and gauge their interest in acquiring a recent super bowl winning head coach.

Unbelievably, this is still fixable. Finding an offensive play caller with any competence at all probably sends them back to the Super Bowl.
The Eagles offense currently ranks 25th in success rate. They are producing a positive play on offense at the same rate as the Jets.

This is the lowest success rate an Eagles offense has had through Week 12 in the last 20 years.

If it helps, the vibes are also extremely bad.
Between the conservative approach, the atrocious playcalling and offensive design, and the cascade of idiotic penalties, there's little evidence that Sirianni is adding anything of value at this point.
Absolutely can't give Sirianni another year. Personally would not give him another week.

Eagles had zero business losing this game if they operated like a team that tried to win after going up 21-0 instead of just playing not to lose.

The Eagles playing so conservative decreased the margin for error, making Saquon Barkley's fumble hurt so much more.

This trajectory of this game is entirely because of Sirianni’s hubris

Sirianni and Patullo frantically telling Jalen that this needs to be an eleven-minute drive that ends in a kick.

Someone once said that they lack ambition. That remains true.
Eagles blow a 21-point lead because all that matters is protecting the football at all costs, don't need to try to actually gain yards or score points!

There's literally nothing that could happen the rest of this season that would convince me Sirianni deserves another year.

Spending 42 minutes of game time running the ball while your passing game cooks. Chickening out in every leverage spot. Just pathetic, pathetic behavior.

Well-deserved miss. The Eagles are coached by losers (on offense) and they deserve this misery.

One thing I think Sirianni brings to his role is a remarkable lack of ego for an NFL HC. He goes along to get along. Listen to their whole album analytics guys in-game? Ok. Need me to give up play calling? Ok. Want to hire my coordinators? Ok.

In the academic field, I think you would call this a review article. To that end, I think it's really well done. I completely disagree with the conclusion.
New column: Nick Sirianni has what might be the best resume through four seasons of any coach in NFL history. He's also somehow the problem with the Eagles? Trying to figure out why Sirianni inspires so much skepticism inside and outside of Philly www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/...
Barnwell: Is Nick Sirianni the most scrutinized successful coach in NFL history?
The Eagles' head coach is 56-22 over five seasons, including two trips to the Super Bowl. Yet he's constantly under the microscope. Why?

The Eagles social media team posting a video that prominently features Tanner McKee and AJ Brown is almost certainly nothing but it certainly would make the conspiratorially minded go "hmmmmmm."

Aaron Glenn followed it up with "I just couldn't trust/ In / My/ QB to throw backside / I tried / But Justin must ride the piiiinnnee / TYROD INTO YOUR HANDS / I COMMEND MY OFFENSE."
This? It's analytics.

Would like to know the last time a defensive lineman was named conference defensive player of the week for a performance with one solo tackle and zero sacks.
Jordan Davis was named NFC defensive player of the week for his performance against the Detroit Lions. #Eagles

This is unconscionable.
EaglesEric on [other site] made an observation about the #Eagles running hitch routes. To follow up:

Eagles are running more hitch routes than any team in the TruMedia database (since 2012).

Here is every team since 2021 with crossers on the other axis (to provide a stylistic contrast to hitches).

Hysterical chart to come out today
Sam Darnold has turned it over a lot (especially recently) but his turnover-worthy play rate is abouve average.

Still leads the league in big-time throw rate, too.
