Trying something out. This is me describing what surprised me about Naked Lunch. It's a clip from episode 2 of Right Where You Are Sitting Now, my podcast series on William Burroughs. damning thread on how the IDF's propaganda arm is scraping 3D assets intended for things like games, films, or architectural purposes and kitbashing together supposed hamas bunkers and iranian nuclear sites. a genocide campaign propped up in part by someone's nephew who got too into blender.

NEW: Since October 2023, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit has released dozens of 3D animations illustrating alleged Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian sites

The style is now unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war

I'm pretty sure that bit in the gladio series where he had another fella on and he was snapping his fingers at your man mid-sentence to get him to pronounce names correctly was the single most embarassing podcast formal conceit I've ever heard (and this is coming from me)

Pursuant to my shit vibes, both my parents were teachers. They saw a few Wacky Nicknames become retirement-inducing nervous breakdowns. My Da would brutally dismantle any zany gossip, "his wife is dying so he's drinking again", while often aggressively siding with evil teachers out of solidarity.

bsky.app/profile/thef... Struck me a few years ago when trying to answer it on twittter that this prompt seems like a good idea in abstract but a lot of school rumours tend to fall into one of three categories: grooming, a sexual assault played for laughs or bullying from the bully's point of view.

Fence #26 will be a special on all things print, and in tribute to the storied history of the UK gutter press, our letters page wants your GOSSIP & SCANDAL.

So, we're asking you all: what was the most scandalous (true or false) bit of gossip that dominated your school or neighbourhood growing up?
A photo of assembled paparazzi waiting to snap your shame for the scandal sheets.

bsky.app/profile/newy... Westside Gunn Voice: "AYO...you ever cook half a brick in an air fryer?..CAN YOU READ A BOOK IN A QUARTER OF AN HOUR???"

Abridging has always been in vogue. Now, apps like Blinkist take entire books and crunch them down to a series of what are called Blinks—which amount to around 2,000 words. “Is that what books are coming to, a handy social lubricant?” Anthony Lane asks.
Can You Read a Book in a Quarter of an Hour?
Phone apps now offer to boil down entire books into micro-synopses. What they leave out is revealing.

Yeah, it was good like, I just think it probably works better as an album tbh. Pharmakon was unreal that year, I forced everyone I knew there to both go to Bosse-De-Nage and stay for her, I think.

I saw the specially comissioned roadburn thing a few years ago but that was with other bands and the venue was too big imo. Was better tonight

I know Blood Incantation's Pure Moods III: Death Metal set is going to be good but why would anyone willingly set themselves up to follow Oranssi Pazuzu. Unreal stuff.

Alright how can we build a popular movement around getting lads to stop wearing schoolbags at gigs.

bsky.app/profile/noch... patreon.com/sfultra episode 2 on wednesday, what awaits as we tread further on the path of osirus?????? (among other things, the first film in the series with a two figure LB viewcount)
the poster for the friday the 13th where jason takes a ferry for ages and is then briefly in manhatten where jason rips an I Love NYC t-shirt but changed so it's the logo for the podcast SFULTRA and jason is a sentient letterboxd list genre filter set to horror.

despite my feigned aversion to prog, I'm actually going as much for Oranssi Pazuzu. had a ticket for them last year and skipped the gig because they were supporting someone rubbish but I loved them at Roadburn years and years ago. Still, very purple trousers music in a way that my wife makes fun of

An amazing detail. And kinda makes the Indo look like cops in America saying "WE GOT HIM" after someone phones in a tip saying "he's my son and I'm turning him in"

Keep going back and forth over whether I'm feeling too bleak to go to blood incantation this evening. You'd think death metal would be a good remedy for being down but in the last few years they've incorporated a lot of prog, one of the most potent depressants known to man.

Though I love the immense bitterness details can convey, the short ones are usually the funniest.

I wouldn't call him a celebrity, but Yngwie Malmsteen is a total and complete piece of shit.
