Pursuant to my shit vibes, both my parents were teachers. They saw a few Wacky Nicknames become retirement-inducing nervous breakdowns. My Da would brutally dismantle any zany gossip, "his wife is dying so he's drinking again", while often aggressively siding with evil teachers out of solidarity.

I spotted Susan Sontag a few weeks ago at a hipster-infested album release party for Williamsburg electroclash band Fischerspooner and thought I was hallucinating, like usual. But an independently verified Sontag-sighting at Williamsburg electroclash mecca, Luxx, confirms it: Susan Sontag is a ginormous electroclash fan. (Ginormous isn't a word, but it seems oddly appropriate.) Gawker rules: two = trend. Other Songtag sightings should be reported to tips@gawker.com. Maybe we'll do a map.

despite my feigned aversion to prog, I'm actually going as much for Oranssi Pazuzu. had a ticket for them last year and skipped the gig because they were supporting someone rubbish but I loved them at Roadburn years and years ago. Still, very purple trousers music in a way that my wife makes fun of

There was much detail in the Indo about the investigative efforts the paper made in uncovering Gavin’s behaviour. What the newspaper and its editorial staff did not say is that the scoop was handed on a plate to them by Gavin’s tenant who happens to be a fellow colleague in Mediahuis, owner of the Indo and various titles, including the Sunday World. That former tenant is the deputy editor of the World, Niall Donald.
