A pleasure to share. Seriously: my concern is that (as mentioned in the post) writers still learning their craft are being warned off testing a technique that, because some like to frame it as “less fun”, could save them a TON of stress and grief. We want MORE of their work, and with less pain. 😀

God, no, NOTHING LIKE THOSE. *So* many people have thought outlining meant “like those” and staggered away in horror. Correctly! …*I* mean like this. https://www.dianeduane.com/outofambit/2020/07/25/outlining-one-writers-approach/

I think that, as with a lot of software people think of as Work Software, people assume it *must* be paid, or that the "free trial" will expire or is so limited as to be useless. Even I assumed Slack had to be licensed until I looked into it.

But what, pray, is the fabled Story Wine? ;)

(I spent so long thinking that outlining a story had to be like the outlines I learned to do for essays in school: I, A, i, a, B, II, etc. It's been really helpful to *see* other ways of doing it.)

For what it's worth, I use a fidget toy and hard candy to satisfy that urge. This guy is my fidget toy of choice, and I usually just buy variety packs of hard candy online.
