Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

Trump dumps on the Smithsonian for learning from history while denigrating the US every single day. Crime-infested hellscape?? The lies he’s telling about our cities are part of his well-worn trope that we’re a “failing country,” a “nation in decline.” He badmouths the US all the time and I hate it.

The new ICE song by Jesse Welles nails it.

ICE isn’t recruiting heroes, it’s recruiting the bitter, the rejected, the ones desperate for a badge to cover their failures.

Losers with power become the most dangerous kind.

If anyone is confused and thinks the administration is standing up for Jews and opposes antisemitism, please see this utterly chilling story.
Reporter @akelalacy.bsky.social just updated this story:

“The federal government reaching out to our personal cellphones to identify who is Jewish is incredibly sinister,” said Barnard associate professor Debbie Becher, who is Jewish and received the text.

We must all stand as a united front against the kidnapping and illegal detention of Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador.

Senator, I am willing to join you and help Organize other members of the House to do the same. @vanhollen.senate.gov
Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen is demanding a meeting with El Salvador President Nayib Bukele over the detention of Kilmar Abrego Garcia and says he’ll go to El Salvador himself if the Marylander isn’t returned.

Eric Adams’ case has been dismissed. Now NYC just muddles along under a corrupt bootlicker who takes bribes from despotic countries and hires unqualified friends and family to important municipal positions. So that’s where we are.

The Signal leak is a prime moment for Democrats to get caught trying. Call for resignations or impeachment hearings or both. Be omnipresent in the media demanding and explaining accountability measures. Don’t let this fade away. Treat this the way the GOP treated Hillary’s emails. Make it a thing.

Had a fun time today at the Tesla protest. Our sign ended up with “NYC HATES FASCISTS.” My fave slogan that my genZ kid came up with: “It’s giving fascism.” Kudos to the boomers and genXers for being the ones who showed up at the protest. My fave chant: “We. The people. Defend the Constitution.”

So if the Trump folks “purge” thousands of FBI agents, as reported in NYT today, how worried should I be about a surge in crimes that those agents would no longer be preventing?

Today’s show was my last at CNN. My closing message: It’s never a good time to bow down to a tyrant… don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to fear. Hold on to the truth… and hope.

I went to the grocery store. Eggs - regular, factory-farmed eggs - were $8 a dozen, because of bird flu. Over in the beer aisle a woman on the phone says jubilantly, “No more transgender bathrooms!”
