I’m going to say it again, generative AI and the push for it to be used in every Avenue of learning and education is because generative AI literally is a weapon for knowledge destruction not a knowledge creation tool and silicon valleys goal is to monetize and gate off all of human knowledge

When those Most Frequently Banned Books lists are all books from dead authors, it kinda suggests to me that they’ve accumulated an outsized amount of bans since they’ve all been around a long time, much longer than books by living authors. I don’t think William Golding needs your dollars right now.

It has varied a lot in my experience

University Press titles, turnaround is usually an extra 3 or 4 days because it isn’t warehoused I'd guess

Major publisher titles that say it, I usually have a longer wait as if they really are backordered
