Former Deputy Defense Minister Vitaly Deynega called for "leaving these cities while it is possible." In his opinion and that of other military personnel, an attempt to hold Pokrovsk at all costs risks a repeat of the Bakhmut and Avdiivka scenarios, which could lead to a chaotic and bloody retreat.
