It’s cruel, it’s irresponsible, it’s plain stupid.

It’s clear they don’t give shit about poor American families,…

"This guy is a convicted felon. I mean think about that – who's threatening to jail me... This guy is unhinged. He's insecure. He's a wannabe dictator. And there's one thing I really want to say to Donald Trump. If you come for my people, you come through me. So come and get me."

58% of Americans - including half of Republicans - think the president should send armed troops only to face external threats, a sign of unease as President Donald Trump increasingly deploys National Guard troops to police American cities, a @reuters.com poll found.

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse corrects Pam Bondi and says her "opposition research" on him was incorrect.

Also - how weird is it that a witness in a hearing brought opposition research?

This Barbie has propaganda in her bones.

The Oregon Republican Party tried to help Donald Trump make the case for military intervention in Portland with an image of a fiery protest — but since Portland is calm, they had to fabricate one by merging old photos of police in Ecuador and protesters in Brazil www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Obviously not the main point here, but it's interesting how this is framed as content rather than policy.

"BREAKING" is typically what journalists or influencers say when they have a big story -- not what government officials say when they launch "undercover" operations

Yesterday, Stephen Miller had one of the most terrifying Freudian slips I've ever heard.

He claimed Trump has plenary authority (absolute power)—before cutting himself off.

Today, Trump said Governor Pritzker and Mayor Johnson should be *jailed*.

This is how authoritarian regimes talk. (1/3)

“Don’t you want someone else to die before you” is not a question moral leaders in a democratic society ask voters

“Isn’t your life worth more than <<points>> *them*” is not the beginning of anyone’s better America

This is how men like Putin control their people while failing to give them anything

Pritzker: "It's unconscionable. This has never happened before. They're calling out troops onto the streets of a state that doesn't want them and they're not even telling us where they're gonna go, what they're gonna do. This hasn't happened I don't think since the Civil War."

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

A practice that would have been unthinkable under past administrations is becoming normalized: Sending ICE detainees, without due process, to far-flung prisons.
