Honestly not trying to "well actually", but I've never thought of this as a "scale". In my brain it's more like type-1 error (false positive) and type-2 error (false negative) in statistics.

We don't know each other, but we have played together once. You graciously gave me a 10 minute demo of 1001 Nights at the hall in GenCon sometime in the late aughts.

We just get in the parents' group chat and laugh at how comically bad they are. I'm assuming it is a "lowest bidder / biggest kickback to the school system" kind of deal where the quality photographers aren't in the running.

I'm actually concerned to learn that cop and military shows have successfully implanted in people's mind that this simple term of respect is militarized and implies strict hierarchy.

As a midwesterner I would never use it for a family member. Anyone running a household that strict is sus. In fact, I would almost exclusively use it for a stranger to let them know I respect them and the job they are doing or the help they are giving.
