this is a really scummy behavior that big meme accounts, usually on twitter and instagram, often do, where they feed a meme into an ai image generator to hide or obfuscate the original in some way, but yeah, i just want to point this out

A Tumblr post from mitochondriaandbunnies, which reads as follows: Dan and I bought a thing called “long ziti” from the local Weird Bargain Store, largely as a joke, but…. I have never had a more unsettling pasta experience in my life. They wouldn’t bend enough to cook from top to bottom simultaneously, and while they were cooking boiling water kept spouting out from the tops of them out of the pot, like a boiling pipe organ. Then they were so long and floppy and hoselike that we couldn’t pick them up with anything other than tongs, and then they were so long and unwieldy that it was basically impossible to sauce them without them all slithering out of the bowl like wet snakes. They then proceeded to cool down almost completely within the the seconds it took to walk to the living room. Eating them was like eating a bowl full half melted drinking straws. Attached above are photos of the packaging for the long ziti and a small portion of it being cooked and served in two plates.

A Reddit post on r/AITAH titled "AITAH (Am I the asshole) for telling my friend her son's name isn't French?", which reads: I'm French. My wife and I live in Canada now. My close friend, Emma, is Canadian and has always been fascinated by anything French, my accent, culture, even my name. Emma recently had a baby boy. Months before he was born, she told me she picked a French name for him and couldn't wait for me to hear it. Later, her husband privately told me the name, and I mentioned that it wasn't actually French. I also noted that the middle name had a spelling never used in France. He said they'd be arguing about it, and she wouldn't listen. When the baby was born, she proudly announced the name, saying it was inspired by me and my heritage. The name and spelling were printed on a big sign. Her husband told her to stop calling it French, and I backed him up. I told her the first name was actually Italian, and the middle name had an Americanized spelling. She got really upset, insisting it was all French and that French and Italian names are basically the same. She accused me of ruining the moment and said I was rude for correcting her. Now she's mad at me and her husband, and people are calling me a jerk for saying the name isn't French. AITAH? (Am I the asshole?) Someone replied to the post, stating they got to know the name. The OP replied back with the name. It was Giovanni.

Corporate history in a joke: Bjarne Stroustrup, the creator of C++, worked for AT&T and then USL, who made a promotional cardboard cutout figure of himself. Novell and then SCO inherited the cutout. For some time after the Novell-SCO-HP deal closed, all three companies were sharing the same office in Florham Park, New Jersey. In order to demark which corridors were SCO's, the Stroustrup cutout was put up with a hat, a bolo tie-with-badge, and a SCO business card saying "SCOland Sheriff".
