I am loving the irony of the current DOGE situation. The Republicans have been out-legislating the Dems for decades. Getting all the money to flow to their congressional districts. Voting against the spending and then taking credit with their constituents for the largesse.

Think about it. If Greenland were a practical site for a mine, it would already exist. Apparently the Russians, English, Danes and Germans have already tried and failed economically. And considering that rare earth mining isn't really mining in the way we traditionally think about it --

Elon Musk track record

Paypal - Exploited regulatory loophole. Sold to Ebay. Overpaid. Spun-off again by Ebay.
First Solar - Failure, spun back into Tesla to hide the loses. Rooftop solar shingles -- total failure.
Tesla - Electric cars. Success. Profitability based on carbon credits.

Tesla stockowners beware! When an automotive analyst tells you to buy a car company's stock because of other things like AI technology, you should be worried. When the CEO of that same company says the same thing, you should run for the doors.

LA fires = Spanish Revival architecture. Spanish Revival architecture is all about eaves -- 'burnt oak' eaves -- and red tile roofs full of holes. Eaves and holes in the roof are a sure fire way to burn down a house.
Who picked this stuff? Oh yea, the white supremacists of the 1920's H Hoover

See my profile picture. No wooden houses in Zungoli, Campania, Italy. Not eaves where embers can ignite the roof. No palm trees. No roof vents. No patio furniture. This town has survived since it was founded by the Normans !! LA building department was clueless. Free market didn't work.
January 15, 2025 at 3:16 AM
Media has gotten it all wrong about LA fires. A failure of a free market. Real estate developers built multimillion $ wooden fire traps within 6 feet of a property line in a desert. Architects that focused on marketability not fire hardening. Palm trees next to walls. Spanish revival fire traps

The rise in global temperature is due to more than just the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. Last year these factors played a material role

1. High solar flare activity
2. Decline in the reflectivity of the planetary surface, i.e. lower global albedo

If the working poor need food stamps and/or Medicaid, their employers should repay the Federal government for these benefits. I am sick and tried of paying for SNAP and Medicaid so businesses can under-employ/under-pay their workers to maximize their profits. This goes for gig workers as well

It's time for the states that export dollars to other states, especially California, to stop. If the Lost Cause, especially Texas, thinks that California sucks then stop taking our handouts. CA exports $72 billion per year to basically red states. CA congressional delegation stop the steal.
December 21, 2024 at 7:51 PM
Funny thing. People in blue states are much happier than people in red states. So why do redstaters keep voting for Republicans who make them unhappy. If Texas is so great, then why are Texans so unhappy. Ah they are insane. Doing the same thing over and over again with the same outcome. Einstein

The first Congressional veto override of the 2nd Trump Era occurred yesterday. Pretty amazing that 327 Congresspersons (75%) and 76 Senators (76%) voted against Trump. And Vivek and Musk.
Musk needs an intervention. I hear that he tweeted 100 times yesterday. Get this guy some help.

Time to call a spade a spade. Farm subsidies help red states reactionaries & rip-off blue state value creators & raise food prices. Plus they propagate the fantasy of the family farm. Food is a capitalist enterprise. There are no yeoman farmers. Free and open markets are the way to lower food prices

Time to stop sending money to red states / red congressional districts that elect MAGA representatives who badmouth blue states and vote against the bills. I took a look at the IRA. It only subsidizes EV chargers in rural counties that voted for Trump & against the bill. Take away the blue cash.
December 20, 2024 at 2:34 AM
Time to play tough with the MAGA crowd. If they want to shutdown the Government let them. I am sick and tired of authorizing money that flows to (1) red states only for their representatives to demonize blue state largess and (2) right-wing corporations like Walmart, Amazon, Home Depot,

Google's new quantum chip marks the end of Bitcoin. Sell quickly. Willow chip can mine all the remaining Bitcoin is a matter of hours and then what. This will ripple through the stock market in terms of a reset of the entire Bitcoin ecosystem: Nvidia, energy cos, MSTR,
Bitcoin miners and traders

Under what law did Elon Musk get the right to sell $9 billion dollars worth of carbon credits? Does anyone now?
December 16, 2024 at 10:59 PM
Stop the SCAM
DOGE has 2 good ideas
Get rid of daylight savings
Cut-off food stamp /Medicaid to the working poor Top 4 employers with employees on SNAP and Medicaid: Walmart, McDonald's, Dollar Tree and Amazon Cut-off would force corps to pay a living wage with benefits. Then cut farm subsidies.

Why are house prices so high in California's Coastal Zone.

Land - $62.5 per sq/ft x 11,560 sq/ft - $750K
Old Structure (knock down 1950's construction) - $275 per sq/ft x 1,400 sq/ft = $385K
New to code Construction - $1,000 per sq/ft x 2,300 sq/ft = $2.3M
Total = $3.4M Spot on on Zillow

Now Elon Musk doesn't believe in electric cars? What? He wants to pivot to hydrogen fuel cells. GM lost $1 bil on that idea. Tesla is overvalued, facing challenges from battery manu's, will lose 1/2 its earnings stream related to carbon credits, has destroyed its brand with liberal base. Screwed

Tesla Design Flaw.

Is Elon Musk at great engineer or marketing guy? Does he really care about climate change or is he just gaming the system? Consider that the basic Tesla color is black inside and out. Black is the worst color for an EV. An EV should be white in and out. Why? To keep it cool.
November 27, 2024 at 2:30 AM
Sell your Tesla stock. The company is overvalued at a P/E of 94 which implies waiting 94 years to get your money back at steady state. GM trades at P/E of 6.5; Ford for P/E of 13. Tesla is going to lose their carbon credit income stream. Which is most of their income so the PE really 150.

The Republican Party needs to decide. Do they support the American Empire and the spread of liberalism? Or do they support a totalitarian world and the spread of tyranny. The Democrats have chosen - empire and liberalism. The Republican Party needs to step up.

David Mamet has lost his mind. And it is a shame that the WSJ gives him voice. Mamet identifies as a Jew, but he doesn't speak for us. 78% of Jews voted for Harris. My family came to America to get away from both Christian oppressors and illiberal European rabbis. For freedom. For liberalism
