In 2023, the Red Sox picked 14 pitchers and signed all 14, I believe they have traded 3 of them.

An influx of 27 pitchers in 2 years.

The #RedSox drafted 15 pitchers in 2025 alone, signed 14 if them and that includes the pitcher that was touted as the “best RH pitcher in the draft” (perfect complement to Tolle/Early). The Sox have not traded away their pitching future, they are making room for it.

If the #Astros are really not interested in trading Paredes to the #RedSox, would they trade Christian Walker for Masataka Yoshida?

Masa hits lefty. The contracts are approximate at 2years. Walker hits righty, him or Contreras play third?

Is it too logical?

Why should the #RedSox trade the ONLY outfielder who hasn’t spent considerable time on the DL in the last couple years????

Let me guess, an “insider” said it is a good idea. Whew, they are such an “insider” they don’t work “inside” a team….
January 29, 2026 at 1:12 AM
I don’t get why the media, especially NESN, obsessively writes about the #RedSox having “too many outfielders” as if there will be catastrophe if one is not traded. ALL of the outfielders on the Red Sox currently on the 2026 roster, were on the 2025 roster and they made the playoffs.

What if the #RedSox best move really is as simple as Duran in center, Rafaela full-time at 2nd and Mayer at 3rd?

Campbell as 4th outfielder/ Lefty platoon?

The Mets beat the Sox and the Bears best the Pats in 1986… maybe there is more to this?
INCORRECT
So are the Bears the Mets of football?

#RedSox lost out on #Bregman. I’d be hesitant to give him 5X35 at his age too but I wonder what plan B is?

Maybe call up Bloom and see if Nolan Arenado is still available? Ketel Marte is off the market, right?

If Sox offered him $170, I wonder if they got to match $175? Was Sox “$170M” real?

Because Rudy G was the last Yankees fan and look how that turned out.
Lol he's a Red Sox fan? How was that not immediately disqualifying

Thanks to everyone who read the Globe and supported our coverage of the Red Sox and MLB in 2025.

It’s not something we take for granted. It’s great to meet so many people — at Fenway and on the road — who care about the team and the paper.

Looking forward to spring training.

The Boston Red Sox, moreso Jarren Duran, have been linked to multiple trade rumors this offseason.

While the #RedSox have a logjam in the outfield, keeping Duran is a better option than trading him away ahead of the 2026 season.

Red Sox Need the Skillset of Jarren Duran in 2026
Heading into 2026, trade rumors surrounding Boston Red Sox's Jarren Duan have intensified. Despite that, the Red Sox need him in 2026.

#RedSox , corporations spend millions on CRM systems and “loyalty programs”, there is great value in giving your customers what they want and making them feel heard / connected. The people want Bregman.

Modeling is an important financial tool but true intelligence requires being able to analyze the numbers, put them in context, factor in outside influences and make the best decision

Bres is intelligent, I hope the #RedSox properly calculate Bregman’s value correctly.

The Red Sox haven’t had a payroll in the top ten of MLB since 2022 (9th). They are literally a mid-market team in payroll. The Sox have been gaslighting their fans for years but numbers don’t lie.

If the #RedSox can’t sign Bregman, I wonder if the #Cardinals would trade Nolan Arenado and Wilson Contreras for Masataka Yoshida and. group of prospects?

Cardinals shed like $40M in payroll, and get prospects (presumably many that Bloom drafted) and Sox get experienced right-handed hitters
December 10, 2025 at 2:12 AM
People can say whatever they want, the Sox would have been better with Vaughn Grissom at 2nd last year once it was clear that Campbell wasn’t ready.

#RedSox made a good move getting Sonny but the #BlueJays made a World Series level move by signing Dylon Cease to a deal the Sox absolutely could have afforded

#RedSox fans pay premium prices for a premium product. The fans paid, deliver the premium product.

Stop hiding behind the sunk costs of bad Bloom signings. The fans didn’t hire him, ownership did. Mistakes happen but make it right.

That is good business.
November 22, 2025 at 5:29 PM
#RedSox should overpay for 1 of 3 expected improvements for 2026 to catalyze fan excitement and show the offseason won’t be just a cold, rainy disappointment.

Waiting until March will leave such a sour taste it will take months to recover. Sell out in April with moves in November.
November 22, 2025 at 5:27 PM
While I understand the business aspects of negotiation, I think the #RedSox take their fans’ loyalty for granted. It would be very valuable to make a big move sooner, rather than later, to capitalize on their return to the periphery of the playoffs. It might cost a little more it they owe the fans.
