I grew up coding on a hand-me-down laptop. My whole family uses used PCs, most <$300. I selfhost everything I can. I've spent the last 10 years learning to write less, better code.

wrote a quick guide to creating a did:web atproto PDS account using goat.

this isn't something I recommend for folks in most cases (did:plc is great!), but I think it is important on principle, and we should test and document it better.

I find it hard to know how to interact here, knowing that anyone can see not just what I post but who I follow and what I like.

Is someone going to jump down my throat for liking the wrong thing? Is deleting/unliking enough, or do people maintain archives of PDS contents?
