I was happy for a few minutes yesterday. When leaving my house I saw our neighborhood turkeys hanging out on the road.

(Unfortunately, I was making my neighbor unhappy at the same time, as I was in my car and blocking his way. 🤦 But my embarrassment and his irritation will fade eventually, right?)

I am sure all the pastors in this thread agree with you, that abuse of any kind in the church is an abomination. And most of us have taken steps to prevent anyone from being victimized in our churches).

Some of my seminary classmates had been raised conservative/evangelical before converting to progressive Christianity. Many had just done so without letting go of the fundamentalism. Just as many rules and purity tests, just with new "right" answers.

Long story short, we butted heads.
