I write about football for a living (albeit a part time living). I also own an enormous number of vinyl records which I will undoubtedly bore you with. Sorry.

The first Queen album I ever bought, aged fourteen, in 1981. It cost me an entire weeks wages from my paper round, and it remains as wonderful now as it was then.

CEO pay is up 1,094% since 1978, while worker pay is up just 26%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

We must unite against those who seek to divide us.
I know many people, particularly from London's diverse communities, are feeling extremely worried following the events this weekend.

It takes me back to how I felt growing up in the ’70s and ’80s, when
far-right political parties marched on our streets.

The leaders of the far-right are once again attempting to hijack our flag, with minorities being intimidated and fear, hatred and division being sown.

As Londoners, and as proud Brits, we must unite to reject the far-right
– just as we have many times before.

But it’s going to take a huge effort from us all – from people of all races and backgrounds, who are willing to stand up for our British values of equality, inclusion and mutual respect.

As Mayor, I'll continue to do everything I can to challenge the far-right and all those who peddle the politics of fear and division.

I urge other politicians and Londoners to do the same.

MAYOR OF LONDON, SADIQ KHAN

I found this album in a market at the weekend. I then went to visit one of my favourite record shops, and the proprietor asked me what I’d bought- and it turned out that he’d never seen it before, either.

Perhaps my favourite album by The Beatles. Yes, if you leave out the unnecessary stuff it could be three sides instead of four, but I could just listen to I Will, Blackbird, Dear Prudence and Julia on a loop for the rest of my life and never get bored. #vinyl #beatles #music

Because I’m working and can’t be bothered to go upstairs and find another record, I decided to play a cd. And what an album this is- ABBA’s best, and one of the greatest, most joyous ever made. #ABBA #70s #music

I suspect this is my least played Fleetwood Mac album. Playing it again now for the first time in rather a long time and I’m not sure why I’ve neglected it. It’s not Rumours, but it’s rather fine nonetheless. #vinyl #music #fleetwoodmac #80s

So every time I go to the theatre, or to a gig, I’m meant to be terrified afterwards. I’m probably in Central London after 9PM 20 times a year and my only fear is that Southern Rail may have fallen over again.

This nonsense is brought to you by a man who is apparently afraid of Clacton. #london

Catching up with Very by the Pet Shop Boys- which came out in 1993, four days after the birth of my youngest boy. The cassette was a dear companion to me on the night bus to and from work, but I suspect this is the first time I’ve listened to the album in thirty one years. #vinyl #petshopboys

I had a terrible experience with Connells 25 years ago. Utterly disastrous. Incompetence of the highest order.

That said, three properties bought or sold in 35 years have brought no positive estate agent experiences whatsoever. I tend to believe they are all shysters.

Thought it was weird that a couple of estate agents never came back to us when we'd clearly expressed interest in a property, just to see if we'd give a counter-offer. I think this might be way more common than people realised www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the greatest day of my life. A day which took a chronically depressed 17 year old and made him believe he had a purpose, and could make the world a better place. Everything I’ve ever achieved in my life has its roots there. Thanks Bob.

We’re off to watch Paul Heaton in Halifax next week, so I thought I’d listen to some of his older work. Can you believe this is thirty five years old? Where did that go?

It is certainly more than A Little Time.
