Hope this is another useful data point! In addition to the awkwardness of nominating friends, w/o reading this I wouldn’t realize it’s appropriate for academics to vote—to me “nonfiction” means tradebooks rather than monographs. I also don’t want to flood the process with books from my disciplines.

Thanks for sharing your paper; looking forward to reading it! Could you say more about what you see as the difference between writing through and responding to the literature? I may be hung up on disciplinary norms so need some help: a response paper should already engage with an assigned text, no?
