Broadview should be doing everything possible to force ICE to abandon that facility. The fact their mayor repeatedly blames protesters instead of ICE for the situation is appalling. Someone with courage should announce they’re running against her whenever the next municipal elections take place.

The ICE “processing” facility in Broadview is located in this industrial zone.

DHS has also expressed interest in purchasing property across from the current facility to build a new detention center.

The story behind this amendment is currently unclear.

Yesterday I was a bit snide about it, but watching people who are in the mainstream affirming this belief that there was “a culture” of white male disadvantage while this administration attacks civil rights law and deploys white nationalism, raises the stakes and signals the danger we are in.
