It feels like this was so long ago, how quickly things are happening here. How I long to go back and disconnect from the reality that is unfolding here. It’s a privilege to be able to get away and disconnect, but I’m glad to have it even for a little while.

All but one house Democrat voted against a government funding bill that empowers authoritarianism. If Chuck Schumer can’t bring himself to join them, he is not fit to lead.

Schumer’s decision is an unconscionable surrender that shows he does not have what it takes to meet this moment, and the charade he pulled yesterday makes it even worse. Time for new leadership in the Democratic Party.

I have to say: Chuck Schumer is a weak man and a fool. This was the one cudgel Dems had. Now it's up to the courts which we new from the beginning were at best going to slow some things down. There's 18 hours left to somehow bring additional pressure to bear. It will be really hard to do that.
