The rally has taken the street, heading east toward Lake Michigan. The marchers are carrying a huge banner that reads,

"Defend Democracy
It's time for a general strike!"

It's near-white out conditions in Chicago as the snow comes down, and tonight's anti-ICE/CBP rally is wrapping up in front of city hall.

But not before the crowd bounces and chants, "I believe that we will win!"

This is hardly a new observation, but when reality itself is under attack, the act of asserting reality becomes an act of resistance.

Destroying the idea of objective reality is central to fascism. It has to be, because fascism is objectively nonsensical - an incoherent mishmash of chauvinism, bigotry, grievance, mythology, cult of personality and unquestioned obedience to a political narrative forever contradicting itself.
