New Minecraft lore idea.
Dexter had heard from a Nether dwelling wandering trader that a Ghastling had been spotted in the area. With that information he set out to find it. It’s rare to ever see a Ghastling without its parent. Something had to have gone wrong.

Piglins are naturally bigger than humans. There is roughly a two foot difference in height between Dexter and Alex. Dexter is a bigger Piglin but even the smaller Piglins stand about a foot taller than most humans.

Dexter tried to have a staring contest with one of the Creaking creatures one night while helping Alex. He lost but he had a lot of fun.

Some Piglins have learned to use the Sculk to their advantage in bastions. Most use it to know when or where mobs/humans are trespassing in Bastions.

Many Piglin Bastions used to have portals to the Overworld for trading but have been closed or destroyed over time. Dexter’s Bastion has multiple portals in the Archives to study different biomes including the newly discovered Pale Gardens. Most are inactive but can be easily lit again as needed.

With the new Pale Garden, Alex was gifted an entire section of the Piglin Bastion’s archives to study it as well as The Creaking. She excitedly studies and logs everything she learns about the newly discovered biome. Dexter loves listening to her rant endlessly about every new discovery she makes.

Soot sprites now exist in my Minecraft Piglin lore. They live in the Bastions as well as other places all throughout the Overworld and Nether. Dexter has seen them and even gives them little candies. Alex loves them since she finds them cute but hates finding them in the archives, they leave a mess.

Dexter had to learn the hard way that humans and Piglins can’t eat all the same food. Like he finds it down right terrifying that Alex can eat many types of poisons and actually enjoy it. He side eyes the “chocolate” and “coffee” she eats but is baffled that she can’t eat a warped mushrooms.

Trying to decide if the different types of Minecraft mushrooms in the Nether will have different medical properties or just make them poisonous to the point that Piglins either use them to tip their arrows for fights/hunts.

Dexter, much like most Piglins in his Bastion generally don’t like or at worst despise gold from the overworld. It’s because it’s seen as cold, as if it has no soul behind it. But it’s still gold.
It’s why they trade small items. If you trade with gold from the Nether you’ll have much better luck.

Unlike Dexter, his partner Alex(temp name) does need glasses. They have three sets of glasses with different colored lenses. Pink lenses for when working in archives with blue lights. Blue/Teal lenses for all the red & orange colors around the nether. And one with just a clear lens to wear at home.

It’s rare for a Piglin to actually need glasses but Piglins that work as a scholar tend to have at least one pair to prevent eye strain.

Dexter does carry a blaze rod on his person but instead of an earring like most Piglins, he wears it around his neck as a pendant. Alex, his human partner wears two small blaze rods that hand off the sides of her round glasses. She doesn’t need it but keeps them on to light candles or the fireplace.

Dexter has a human partner that he cares deeply for. Alex (temp-name) works with the Piglin Scholars. Dexter may be the leader of the Bastion but works with the Brutes more than the Scholars, so having his smart little human partner around is a massive help to making sure everything runs smoothly.

Blaze rods are also used in Piglin Jewelry or accessories but they tend to have a more practical uses as an easy to grab fire starter. Similar to a flint striker in welding.
