Stopped in SLC to eat at "The Soup Kitchen" which does NOT advertise but has the most amazing soup I've ever tasted. No extras, just made from scratch soup. Owner walked me through. Had a traditional Reuben and Veggie Beef soup. If you are ever there, I recommend.

We crossed the Great Divide at 7k feet and passed the line where rain falls toward the Atlantic and then went to where rain falls toward the Pacific.

Once again, we stopped for gas, but now we were entering the heartland. This was in Kearney Nebraska, roughly our halfway point.

As the sun rose the next day we stopped at the Ohio Turnpike rest center which had a Burger King and consumed sustenance. Road Dog said he was good, but of course yours truly was peckish. Then it was back on the road to make time before any winter storm blew up.

We left on Sunday night after packing and working through Saturday and Sunday around 9pm and drove until 2am. As you can see Road Dog was still wide-eyed, but I was not. So sleep was the name of the game.
