There’s a lot in here that deserves a pull quote, but this is the most egregious. I need people to recognize the gravity of the situation here in Chicago;

This whole clip on abuse of activists in an Israeli prison is worth listening to, but Ben Gvir's apparent public shaming of two prisoners, singled out for being Jewish, is one of the most striking examples of Israel's insistence that antizionist Jews are somehow lesser. This too is antisemitism.

Demanding that the hostages return isn't incompatible with naming & demanding an end to genocide.

Naming the power imbalance & impact thereof doesn't desecrate those murdered two years ago today.

I think you're right, but a cynical reading might be that the rules of engagement have changed since 2002, and if he's free then they could go after him like Haniyeh or Nasrallah. Alternatively, the US might want him out to try to keep the "2-state solution" machine spinning for a few more years.

it is october 7. for two years hamas has been offering to return israel's hostages in exchange for an israeli withdrawal from gaza to which benjamin netanyahu has said "no," ignoring the hostages' families demands and prioritizing the destruction of gaza over saving the hostages lives.
