don't ask me why I'm doing this on a friday night - the answer is I'm old and boring - but with a combination of stubbornness and ChatGPT I've managed to get the front panel from an old cable box to bend to my will.
an LED display extracted from the front of an old cable box sits on a workbench, wired up to an Arduino. it is currently displaying the digits '0358'.
