New map work! Greenways of Ireland. Something I've been wanting to do for a long time. Surprising just how many there are, and even more in planning #GreenwaysIreland #ActiveTravel #Cycling

I BIKE Dublin would like to express our sincere sympathies to the family, friends and colleagues of Garda Kevin Flatley. It is shocking and tragic that a Garda would be killed while working to make the roads safe for other road users. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Given the overwhelming evidence of dangers SUVs pose to vulnerable road users, especially kids, there is a compelling case to introduce restrictions on where they can be driven, plus much higher taxes & lower speed limits for SUVs.

Children are 82% more likely to die if they are hit by an SUV than by a smaller car, study finds
Researchers gathered data from more than 680,000 road collisions in multiple countries over the past 35 years.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the more than one hundred people who joined us for this evenings cycle along Strand Road. It was great to have a reason to celebrate and the weather was glorious!

📣Event Alert📣

The High Court is due to rule on the Strand Road Cycle Route case on Friday 11th April. Whatever the result we want to see the route progress without delay.

Join us at 6pm on the 11th at Grand Canal Square for a cycle along the route to demand safe cycling infrastructure.

My letter in the @irishtimes.com this morning.

The media must do a much better job when it comes to reporting on road deaths.

The exception proves the (lopsided) rule...

That this independent mobility is no longer a normal sight is an extraordinary reflection of how the abnormal has become normalised.

Against very stiff competition from CNN, Al Jazeera and The BBC, myself and @EcoEye’s documentary series for @rte, Rising Tides, picked up a second place gong at the Association of International Broadcasters in London.

I agree, I think what has happened the Greens is a shame. They tangibly made lives better in childcare, public transport and community infrastructure. I’m not sure what they could have done differently. The climate crisis doesn’t go away by getting rid of the greens, so they’ll be back !
Catherine, thank you for everything you've achieved and stood up for, seen and unseen.

You should be so proud of what you achieved for our community and the country in the 10 years as a councillor, TD and Minister. @catherinemartin.bsky.social
