Have you lived somewhere with no secure, sheltered bike parking?

Lack of decent parking at home is a big barrier.

I worked with the Belarmine RA and the council to run a pilot to see could we support residents in a practical way with advice and funding.

Councillors voted last night for higher rents and higher parking charges. I want to be clear I voted against these.

We put forward an alternative budget for Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown that was fair, balanced and fully costed. Fine Gael & Fianna Fáil councillors were the only ones to vote against it.

Stephen Daedalus Airport.
The Dáil has heard a suggestion that Dublin Airport be named after the former Taoiseach Sean Lemass.

Any counteroffers?

I'm in Dún Laoghaire County Hall to scrutinise and vote on the council's 2026 budget.

The draft budget presented by the Chief Executive is for €313.7m across all the services the council delivers.

Any questions?

Note: this budget doesn't include capital projects which is managed separately.

The Belmont reservoir saga in Sandyford/Stepaside has run on for many years since planning permission was given back in 2011.

A lesson for planners on how not to give disappearing developers a way to wriggle out of their commitments. #sandyford #stepaside #disappearingdevelopers

I've written to the CEOs of the NTA, Dublin Bus and Go Ahead Ireland: here's 6 things they need to sort out.

More homes have been built here than any other part of Ireland, but our public transport users are treated like dirt.

Excellent letter. Planning for school places need to track housing development, as you point out so clearly.
I wrote to the new Minister for Education Hildegarde Naughton to congratulate her on her new role, explain what is happening with the Kilternan school places crisis and offer solutions.

I spoke at the Occupied Territories Bill protest this evening outside Leinster House.

Tomorrow we will vote on the joint motion calling for it to be progressed - with services.

We expect the motion to pass, but we need the Government to actually act on this vote and enact the Bill without delay.

Important and welcome that President Connolly's first public words since her inauguration are focused clearly on the climate challenge we collectively face.

So much depends on us making major progress to further bring down emissions in these crucial years.
