The past aside, do people never consider that we are not immune from war, from attacks. There is no reason AT ALL why this could not happen to us and that we would need to flee this country. But, there is a weirdly superior, privileged view that this is, and will always be, a one way system. Nope.

A country with a housing shortage needs homes, not landlords.

This article offers zero evidence that landlords are going to “stampede” out of the rental market, other than an estate agent saying, “trust me, bro.”

Landlords 'stampede' out of rental market ahead of new changes coming next year
The new rules and regulations will not affect tenants that have been in place before March 1 and after that date, they will see a six-year tenancy agreement put in place

Another 'Landlords leaving the market' story. First, has this not consistently been proven to be completely false? Second, if true, why would this be bad? Third, if Landlords are 'leaving the market' in droves because new rules mean their tenants have a more secure lease, well, ok then. Off you pop.

1/2 The father of friend of my mothers played rugby for Ireland in the 1920s. I think it was only a year. Didn't make a career out of it. Later in his life, he was given the honour of being in charge of the score at Lansdowne. This was pre digital and you had to change the physical numbers.

This use to be a problem for women, no public loos meant they really couldn't go out much and, if they did, they could not go far. No one can convince me that this isn't the exact same plan.

I've been saying this for a while, but I do not believe there is a 'male loneliness crisis'. There is just a loneliness crisis.
There is a growing loneliness epidemic among young people in Ireland.

While conversations about social isolation often focus on the elderly, now, more than ever, we also need to talk about its impact on the young, writes Sinéad Keane. jrnl.ie/6872090
Opinion: Ireland's young people are lonely. We should be treating it as a public health problem
In an age when it can feel like we are becoming more isolated and polarised, we must prioritise connection, writes Sinéad Keane.
