Idk it's something I've been pondering on today. I heard someone say that as you project your humor out to people you make it more difficult to have a real exchange as you position yourself in an audience/presenter format by doing so. That made me reflect on all my relationships.

honestly same?? I will say a lot of the hard work has gotten easier now that there's more folks than ever using it. I was surprised how much better the general user experience has become

That said, they COULD have shipped without these issues, mainly thinking about ME and Vista. They got a bad deal because of the whole driver issue between Microsoft and it's vendors. If you built your own PC you were more likely to avoid these problems altogether, but still far from perfect.

The bad ones could be tweaked/fixed, especially after the service packs but oh my GOD win11 has proven to be the worst yet as far as debloating goes. It's issue is more of a surveillance state/socioeconomic issue than a purely technical one which kinda makes it harder to navigate.

Look all I'm saying is that it's trivially easy to make convincing looking retro themes while retaining modern QoL features and it's beautiful. KDE Plasma is my big interest but I've heard good things about gnome 49, mate was also pretty fun.
