If I apply the adage to these before and after images correctly, the walls and ceiling are a few eggs and the wiring and new 20 amp outlets are the omelet? I was able to put my eggs back together again so does that make me not the king’s horses nor the king’s men? I am so confused.

I had to find an electric avenue from fan location to switch box location with minimal wall damage. Success! I’ll turn this single gang box into a double.

A couple of exploratory holes, a practice scrape, floor paper, and lots of janky diy cloths and sheets… all to prep for the ceiling work. Looks odd, but cleanup will be significantly easier.

I started grouting the wall last night (zoom in!) and realized I mixed too much grout for my pace so I stopped, cleaned up, relaid construction paper to protect floor, then had a glass of wine and sushi for dinner. Back at it tomorrow with a smarter approach to grout mixing.

Major achievement unlocked! The wall tile is installed, included my custom niche and shower window. Whew! Next steps are grout, install vanity, toilet, shower door, light fixture, and towel racks. Progress!

This is how many boxes of 12” x 24” tile (8 per box) it takes to cover all 4 walls of a 5’ x 9.5’ #bathroom. The #wine #corks are my markers that tell me which box to pull from next.

My birthday gift to me… a bottle of the 2nd most peatiest scotch in the world - 307.2 phenol parts per million. I am looking forward to the aroma of old newspaper-wrapped tennis shoes stuffed in burnt tires sitting in a musty, cobweb-filled attic, aired out after a hot summer rainfall on asphalt.

Support structure and leveling start for wall tile is in! One can never have too many levels, including fricken laser ones. Also, floor grout came out pretty nice.
