My 5-year-old loves watching basketball games now that he’s on a team (love ya YMCA). My fave comment from him today as we watched the Suns beat the Jazz in OT:

“Money money money!”

(We do not bet in this house. I don’t think he knows betting is a thing, let alone betting on a game).

Omg this Suns-Jazz game is insane 🏀

So much ❤️ today at our kindergarten’s multicultural potluck for lunar new year. More brings us together than divides us. Diversity celebrated. The kids love sitting together to break bread. And we got tamales, banhmi, dumplings, mochi, chaat, samosas, churros, noodles, egg tarts in 1 meal!

I want to make it clear that no matter who is in office, humanitarianism, human dignity, morals and ethics, are imperative. All humans are equal and deserve all the same equal rights. We all also need basic things like food, housing, safety, healthcare, education, to survive. Do we all agree?

I’ve learned a lot in the last year as I tried to put a Homekey deal together in Sacramento. I found a hotel to change into apartments for people who are experiencing homelessness. My deal may have fallen through. In this particular case it’s a matter of who is more powerful: govt or landowner.

❗️We did it (for now)! ❗️

Our lawsuit was successful - US district court is blocking OMB from moving forward on its reckless plan to halt federal funding.

The stay is until Monday, so still much more to do.

For now - take a breath, take a rest, and buckle up - we’re not done.

I think midtown/downtown Sacramento needs a locally owned art supply store. University Art closed, barely had anything. I’d rather support local than order online. Today we went to chain Blick. Can someone open a local version of that here? We got foam board and glue for this fab snake project.

Picked up frozen squid and fresh rice noodles at A&A Supermarket on Stockton Blvd, Sacramento. Quick meal tonight with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, green beans. Loosely followed this recipe but I always add soy sauce to taste since the kiddo is eating it. chilliandmint.com/2014/12/29/1...

I got this mailer from a real estate agent who sells homes in midtown Sacramento. I wonder if he did some sort of market study and found that midtown buyers/sellers in January had a high interest/love of Canada? I mean, we love Canada. We would move there. So would my neighbors….

Overheard on the baby monitor:
“Dad, you know what happened to Martin Luther King. They actually KILLED him. Do you know why they killed him? Because they didn’t want the world to change.”
Dad: “that’s right, he was a good person who wanted equality for everyone.”

William Land kinder rocks. ❤️

If you haven’t tried Qisa Coffee on 24th Street in Curtis Park, Sacramento, do give them a shot. Lovely staff and great drinks and snacks.

Trying to decide if I want to attempt a gluten-free dessert for 30 tomorrow or just buy gluten-free donuts at Babes.

I ❤️ to cook, so the last couple days have been weird for me with lots of eating out or just omelets and sardine sandwiches (not like that is bad). Today I made Avgolemono soup and this @foodandwine chicken with feta. 👩🏽‍🍳💋= mango balsamic vinegar in the marinade. www.foodandwine.com/sheet-pan-fe...
