And let's name names. #ElonMusk #MarcoRubio #RussellVought and #DonaldTrump (with help from #JohnRoberts). This is premeditated murder--of children. You can spin it anyway you like but you cannot escape this fact.
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

not just that he has no constitutional authority, there isn't even any particular legal or institutional mechanism by which the president can make anyone treat this as anything other than a weird advisory opinion.
This “explicit” is a weird editorial choice. The constitution gives the president no power over this at all. It’s not ambiguous.

Why the fuck would I blame anyone but you for you deciding not to vote? You’re a fucking grown ass adult. If you shit your pants at your big age I’m not blaming anyone but you.

Musk has adjusted Grok’s algorithm so it’s now a neo-Nazi.

Pretty cool that almost every progressive commentator, elected official and organization still uses Musk’s X algorithm to communicate with the public! Good job guys.

The problem with so many xenophobes is they either are too lazy to do research, or just know their followers won't and so actively ignore it. NYC has always been a city of immigrants -- forced and voluntary. It is *precisely* what made it what was, & makes it what it is. Racism relies on ignorance.

🧵 THREAD: A federal whistleblower just dropped one of the most disturbing cybersecurity disclosures I’ve ever read.

He's saying DOGE came in, data went out, and Russians started attempting logins with new valid DOGE passwords

Media's coverage wasn't detailed enough so I dug into his testimony:

I'm not saying journalists should never interview admitted propagandists. There are journalistic reasons to do so. But if we do, we must be prepared to -- in fact it is our duty to -- challenge vociferously all unsubstantiated claims. Otherwise, we ourselves become propagandists.

It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.

With tax season coming up soon I'm reminded how tax credits and rules that are meant to help (childcare tax credits, other non refundable credits) are so often written to help people unless you're too poor to claim them or one parent is disabled, then it's a f u.
