Network friends! I have been doing a "network of the day" for my Networks in Biology class. Any favorites come to mind?

I got tired of mashing together tools to write long threads with 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 and ℳα†ℏ—so I wrote La𝑇𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑡!

It converts Markdown and LaTeX to Unicode that can be used in “tweets”, and automatically splits long threads. Try it out!

Haven't made it there yet, but it looks so beautiful!

Nice! What part of the park?

TL;DR:
* Students will have a valid F/J visa for 4 years or length of program, whichever is SHORTER
* If your program goes longer than 4 you must file an extension with USCIS
* F1 students cannot change programs
And much more BS...

Come be my colleague! Happy to answer any questions about what it's like living in Charlottesville and being in the department.

Oh interesting! I hadn't thought of that---thanks for the input!

That might be a great idea! I'll give it a try. Thanks for the help!

(2) any tips for running computational labs? I find that students with limited coding backgrounds need a lot of help, but there's only a TA and me and even a 15:1 ratio of students is proving tough.

I would truly appreciate any advice!

Teaching questions based on a wild first few weeks: (1) any tips for introducing Python to students with a wide range of coding skills in a network science class? Although it's clear that a 1 hour weekly lab is not enough time to learn a new coding language, I don't want to eat up all of class time.
