My guess is this is at least part of if not the whole reason behind what put the kibosh on the contract. You can't agree to something you don't yet have. Sounds like those last two years on the contract rely on the salary cap increasing due to an as yet to be determined media revenue.

As always, a thoughtful reflection from Andrew Eastmond in The Trib. He isn't loud about his efforts, so it may come as a surprise to some that the woso world makes an appearance.

The guy in the photo with Trump is Casey Wasserman as in Wasserman Group which is the sports agency that reps many of the biggest names in American woso including USSF President Cindy Parlow Cone. Oh and here is another picture of Casey with two people everyone should recognize.

And Burke gets paid $259,167 to seeming do nothing but cover for the league.

I'm confused by this part. Does this mean that Illinois didn't get the same information as D.C. or is Illinois BSing their way out of FOIA compliance?

NWSLPA's statement not much better than the NWSL's statement. It might even be worse considering the league basically just said no comment while the PA said no comment under a bs veil of doing right by the players.

This is such a cop out from Berman. "There's not much more [she] could say to make sure [people] have confidence" because no one trust a word that comes out of her mouth on the rare occasion that she doesn't just obfuscate.

Time and time again investigations have been shown to be a farce that don't actually protect those reporting abuse and yet more than half of GMs think it's the opposite or worse are unsure - and you have to think that some of the no's just have the sense not to say yes even in an anonymous survey.

Fails to mention the training facilities are trailers.

Pretty damning for the writer not to mention that there is a sixth plantiff. The sixth plantiff is also the second Jane Doe and the Wave only fired the rapist they were knowingly employing after Jane Doe 2 came forward.
November 10, 2025 at 5:10 PM
First it was Meg Linehan being named in court filings for ignoring the issues at the Wave inspite of most NWSL media reporting on it, now it is another Athletic stooge writing multiple puff pieces for the club.

Georgia has a six week abortion ban. A lot has changed since Berman said this but she doesn't have a great track record of not just talking out of the side of her mouth. Obergefell is likely to fall soon too.
November 10, 2025 at 3:05 AM
Of course she didn't address why the old policy was ever done away with - which, according to a quote in the Guaridan from an NWSL spokesperson, coincided with Berman's arrival as commissioner.

Looks like Kay Cossington is trying to lay blame on cultural differences for players reporting Montoya. Vera Pauw tried the same thing.

Meghann Burke makes $259,167 from the PA.

According to her USC bio she graduated with a business degree and may have a masters degree too. She could pretty easily find a post soccer job. That article also didn't seem to actually be written by her (too much minutiae that the average bigot does know), so I'd go with recruited.

Another mealy-mouthed statement. Interesting, the statements from NWSL and NWSLPA point to collectively bargaining this issue. The current CBA runs until 2030 & was done just last year. So at best the PA doesn't see this as a priority and at worst they agree with Eddy but know better than to say it.
