The friend referred to their concerns as fear of a genocide being possible because of thos project. In the past, decimating food resources is one way that governments have tried to kill indigenous people, such as the way the US government killed off the bison to starve natives.

I don't know much about the org itself, I just know that this project is a very real concern for my best friend who is a tribal member whose family live back home in Alaska.

Can you share this when you get the time, bfitz? The aid this native org are asking is for people to spread awareness, sign the petition and donate. they have much information on their website. People need to speak out against this.
