Star Trek TTRPG this week. We successfully infiltrated a Romulan facility in the neutral zone harnessing the mind-control powers of the native tentacled fauna. We didn't escape notice of their protector ship in orbit, however. Next week we'll see if we can escape.

Cheesy Hash-Brown Cups (from Highlights kids magazine, Feb 2021) You Need: + 16-ounce package frozen shredded hash browns, thawed + 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions + 1/4 cup diced red pepper + 3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese + 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for sprinkling + 1/2 teaspoon salt + 1/8 teaspoon black pepper + 1 cup half-and-half Before You Begin: Line a 12-cup muffin tin w/ paper baking cups. Brush w/ oil or coat w/ cooking spray. Adult: Preheat oven to 350F. Chop green onions and red pepper. 1) Drain. Drain the hashbrowns in a colander over the sink to remove excess liquid. 2) Mix. Mix the hash browns, green onions, red pepper, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. 3) Scoop. Scoop 1/3 cup hash-brown mixture into each muffin cup. Pack down with a spoon. 4) Spoon. Spoon about 1 tablespoon half-and-half into each muffin cup. Sprinkle with extra cheese. 5) Bake. Adult: Bake in the oven for 60-75 minutes or until the hash browns are brown and crisp on the edges. Rotate the muffin tin halfway through baking time. Let the hash browns rest for 5 minutes before serving.

9/11, 14 mi from ground zero, the night my college housemates friendship, having met days earlier, solidified. People I still consider close friends 24 years later. We thought hard the message we wanted to share, specifically that our sympathy was with the victims. All the victims. 1/2

Went to check on what kind of spider it actually is, so as to know if we should be worried or not. Hentz Orbweaver. Mostly not worried, but seeing 2 others in their own webs nearby still gave a little pause. 🕷️

Speaking of bird sightings we had an interesting one. A juvenile Cooper's Hawk, just chilling on our fence for a few seconds. Pic quickly taken through a screen, so it didn't come out great. But still.
