Double walled vase with carved kelp forest theme. Carving this was a balance between trying to create a sense of depth and engineering it so that the outer wall didn’t collapse, all while keeping the clay at the right moisture level over multiple carving sessions spread over a couple of weeks.

a) Rebecca's thread is A++
b) yeah ok I'm a squid gal but can we talk whale size... this is a whale for whom a GIANT SQUID is a LITERAL MOUTHFUL
c) the footage is rare & exciting for us, but it's just tuesday snacktime for sperm whales. this mama could eat 7-8 giant squid PER DAY 🧪🦑🌊
I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA

Third times the charm on this yarn bowl: fired one more time after sanding smooth craters and dipping half way in a the coat of Noxema. The inside isn’t as pretty but the glaze is now smooth everywhere so it won’t snag yarn.
