This is an opportunity to do things properly. Instead of wasting millions on this samed failed model and waiting for the next, stronger storm, to destroy them all again; it's time to rewild public land!
Well over half some sitka plantations blown down in Storm Éowyn.
Add that to risk of wipeout from wildfires, bark beetles or other pests, plus the colossal damage to ecosystems, the climate, + local communities.

Government minister on @drivetime.bsky.social saying that we should equip every sports club with a generator for future storms. It would be funny if wasn't coming from someone who should know better.
So the idea is, for future storms will use diesel generators (1'000s of them).
