well, I have the FF1 remake on PS4 but I didn't find her when I played through it. Perhaps she was standing behind a tree or is a secret boss I never saw😉
ohfivepro.bsky.social
was forgetting about her sort of showing in shiki3. I don't even know the PS3 Spelunker. Will need to look it up
ohfivepro.bsky.social
Oh yeah and I forgot she's in that game, kind of, in a way
ohfivepro.bsky.social
She was 4th Moogle on the left in FFV. Times were tough & she had to take what jobs she could get

Obviously she's not in the other games. That's just being silly😉

Only 2hrs until it hits Japan & then the rest of the world will start to follow suit as their stores update. Nice to see it break free of a dead, Microsoft only service so more people can get their asses kicked by it
ohfivepro.bsky.social
grossly underused mascot who should definitely have had more games

Look, even me, an avid not PC gamer unless it's mame, can be made to part with money due to her presence. I already have the games on PS1 from decades ago & can probably emulate her for free but I don't care. Take my money Taito

good to hear. For w/e reason I could never get into 2 anywhere near as much as 1. Didn't even finish it even though there was nothing in particular I remember actively disliking. idk, wrong time in life or something

I'll pick up the remakes on sale one day

She was pretty big a couple of years ago when she got a limited edition full size 1.76m tall standee to coincide with the Japanese Taito LD Collection😉

In a bizarre turn of events though, they used Reika dressed as an air hostess, which was advertising for Top Landing, rather than her own game✈️

head bonk Ki from her own game will never not be funny
ohfivepro.bsky.social
they did it for V after the PS2 game so never say never. It's only been a couple of decades since 4 came out & they've perhaps been biding their time until arcade hardware could do the game justice🤔
ohfivepro.bsky.social
It was on the old Microsoft Game Room. It's pretty brutal in terms of enemy memorization & accuracy

Think Space Invaders but there's also Invaders running to the bottom of the screen to kill you too

0 complaints from anyone would be heard if that happened. Add in the Rage Racer courses + OST for good measure & perhaps the perfect game could exist?
ohfivepro.bsky.social
the entire car handling system was overhauled in 2 + the new OST + multiplayer. It might look similar but that's where the similarities end
ohfivepro.bsky.social
but will we get 2 beforehand & will it have online, seeing as both that & Rave used linked cabs? Time will tell

Will Feb'26 see us get the 1st home port of the best Ridge Racer game? Who knows but current signs are looking promising

Namco & SuperSweep announced Ridge Racer Night 2025, a live DJ even scheduled for February 21 featuring, among many other guests, Reiko Nagase as a pre-show performer🤔 www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2wq... 🇯🇵 they're specifically focusing on Rave Racer & Hamster's a sponsor, so read into that what you will

there's an EN side🤯

I thought it was just bsky for Japanese people (where it remains mostly sane & normal by only following arcade adjacent people)
ohfivepro.bsky.social
for w/e it's worth, I've quote posted Nishitani on the other site in Japanese saying the game never got any computer ports & it seemed extremely minor compared to everything else that released around the same time

Maybe he'll get back & say he mis-heard Double Dragon as Battlantis or something🤔
ohfivepro.bsky.social
bizarrely it's one of my least favourites of the 1980s covers. Just a bit plain & dark for me compared to some of the huge scanline images they'd used previously. I loved the Darius Great Thing cover & the later Galaxy Force one
ohfivepro.bsky.social
not even the 90s mate, these were all '85 to '87
ohfivepro.bsky.social
Battlantis also made the front cover of a different issue of Gamest, alongside lesser known titles such as R-Type, Street Fighter, Double Dragon, 1943, Dragon Spirit & Gradius😉🐸

Pretty cool that 38yrs later all of these games can be bought on current hardware. All we need is a better port of R-Type
ohfivepro.bsky.social
Maybe Nishitani was being a pain in the arse & this was Capcom's equivalent of sending him off to the warehouse for a long stand or to pick up some tartan paint🤔

Fun game but it's a brutal memory test too
ohfivepro.bsky.social
I never saw Battlantis in a UK arcade. It did get a few reviews in UK mags though, the 1st saying it's fun but one of the lesser played new games & the 2nd saying it's 10p per play (when 20p was the norm)

Other reviewed games like R-Type, Double Dragon, Flying Shark & Combat School were everywhere
Middling review of Battlantis Middling review of Battlantis

The advert Konami placed on the back cover of Gamest is a lot more striking than the flyer image imo
ohfivepro.bsky.social
1st time I played it was on the Microsoft Game Room. A bit too much of memory test for me to fully get into
