I am entirely for DO MORE, JB! I hope it's more than just words, but yr right, the reality on the ground right now is urgent and hearing a fat billionaire say nice words is not any kind of a solution.

He's using plain language to say the President is deranged, so mentally ill that he should be removed from office. He's out there making the case nationwide that this is a meritless assault, not immigration enforcement. And he's telling his constituents to document evidence of criminality by ICE.

"Use the court system" is the thing I want not to say so much ("Man the barricades!" is inherently cooler), but the legal system, suing, is the tool. He's hoping justice, or at least the rule of law, can prevail. That SCOTUS will say, No, you can't arrest a governor and appoint Barron to be baron.

Trump has "federalized" 300 Illinois National Guard in addition to Texas arrivals. One of the managers at my local food co-op downstate was just called up this week. For all I know, he's as much of a vegan pacifist as the next guy. Pritzker could order up MORE National Guard and what then?

I can testify to the weirdness of the Porter Wagoner TV show with Dolly that I can still remember from my youth. She would pull towels from boxes of laundry detergent during the commercials. (And now I'm off to YouTube to search for Dolly Parton detergent commercials, sigh)

I can still remember, because it wasn't all that many years ago, how pissed off I was hearing Catfish Blues by Robert Petway for the first time. Why hadn't I heard this before? Who had been hiding it from me? Why wasn't it part of the syllabus in every classroom in America?

Just a quick reminder: Trump has also "federalized" 300 Illinois National Guard this week. These are literally our neighbors! Do not assume that they all or even mostly agree with this bullshit! Even those Texas National Guard are mostly just regular schlubs, NOT wannabe Nazis like ICE.
