In my case, I'm pretty sure my Mom also has ADHD but was a master at masking and self-deception. I learned to deny my differences and hide them behind relatively good grades.

I can identify with this. I excelled at STEM subjects because I knew how to figure everything out in real-time. You can't figure out the humanities and I just could not remember anything I studied.

Because there are some people who voted for him who aren't "cultists" doesn't mean he isn't leading a cult of blind followers.

The intelligent response would be to acknowledge that and say something to differentiate yourself.

I think you've touched on something here. Trumpism is a real personality cult and cults always paralyze a person's tolerance for critical thinking.
