Hopefully American Catholics will choose faith over fandom and follow the Pope’s lead on this issue, not Trump’s.

Hopefully American Catholics will choose faith over fandom and follow the Pope’s lead on this issue, not Trump’s.
My gut feeling (based on a lifetime of experience, much of that as a Republican Christian) is that there is a direct causal relationship between the GOP's embrace of American Evangelicalism and the increase of hypocrisy like this:
