No idea why but I thought I was alone here. I'd be in a tiny venue and still have anxiety over something as little as telling someone "hey man, great set"....like they were gonna think I was a loser for having the audacity to: 1. pay cover to see their show and 2. enjoy it.
I’ve sometimes fallen into the trap of thinking that complementing a creative person for their work is less sophisticated or desired than discussion or debate about it but very often the best thing you can say to them is hell yeah and that doesn’t make you dumb it just makes you nice

When eating with tortilla chips, I like the shitty, store bought salsa out of the jar more than 99% of the homemade stuff I've tried. I'm a solid home cook and like to make stuff from scratch, but gimme some Mrs. Renfros or Pace Picante and I'm fine.
