Living in a two loom garage with an attached house in the Cascadia bioregion. Mostly things related to textiles, and lots of photos of Victor Velluto, an elegant goofball Russian Blue cat.

Victor has made it clear that this is the only correct and true configuration of office equipment that will meet his needs.
A grey cat, asleep (he wants to think) on his back, his front paws curled up bunny-style, and his fang showing, just a little bit. Behind him is a pale green iMac and in front of him is a black adaptive keyboard. This positioning assures frequent breaks for belly rubs (his, not mine.)

Oh, *you* want to make a calash? Well, hurry over to The Workwoman's Guide, p 162 for instructions. Plate 20 (facing page 159) shows the pattern(figs 19 and 20.) #DressHistory

ME: Now Mom, just remember, there's a lot of disinformation and AI in your social feed and your friends' Facebook.
MOM: I know! My friend sent me this crazy post where someone used AI to make an image of a giant frog fighting Army troops!
ME: ... okay, no, that one's ... goddamit, Portland.

This is pretty grim. The impact to ash trees AND salmon is real one-two punch to indigenous communities
ianrosewrites.bsky.social
Emerald ash borers have killed millions of ash trees since they arrived in the US. They made it to Oregon in 2022, British Columbia in 2024 and this year, were detected in Portland. Washington is on alert.

So, “nene” shows up in NYT crosswords regularly. I had only a vague idea of what they look like and am tickled to see them in the form of cookies!

To quote Bono of the band U2: Ohhhhh, the sweetest thing! 🫶🏽
Mahalo nui loa to the park ranger handing out nēnē cookies to our folks working hard at the #haleakalanps visitor center & park store, where sugar in the afternoon is needed & the nēnē are beloved.

Lots of good stuff here, including evolving western science to account for indigenous knowledge and practice. Also, beavers! 🦫

It continues to be true that the most potent weapon we all have is to make them look foolish. I’m so proud of the discipline PDX has shown thus far

When I lived there in the ‘70s we used to joke about potholes so deep you’d find small Hondas in the bottom of them

With the cooler weather Victor has started putting himself to bed in the evening, in the hope that I'll turn on the electric mattress pad or (better yet) get in bed myself (which of course I always do, eventually)

I dropped off art in downtown Portland today for the Northwest Museum of Cartoon Arts that is opening there. The set up looks amazing, can’t wait to see you there:)

This city has problems but a war zone isn’t one of them. It’s just another nice day in the city here. #comics #comicbooks #portland

Here at Popmob HQ we’re big fans of the Portland Hypno Frog. We love a protest outfit that’s adorable, goofy, effective and just plain fun!
There’s a long history of intentionally bouncy gear at protests, and we think it’s time for a revival! Let’s explore…
