From 1970? Are we going to find out you've got some sort of immortal vampire thing going on?

Are these Carl Critchlow Space Marine designs actually the best space marine designs?
oldhammerpodcast.bsky.social
According to Thrud the Barbarian marines actually eat quite a lot of fibre.

sculpt me a marine doing the "Martin Freeman looks to camera and sighs with a sense of ennui in The Office" face.

Ive just realised that some people are saying some of these are meant to be female heads and my reaction was to tell them they'd be prettier if they smiled.

People say it would be the terrifying theocracy and threat of horrifying violence that would make living in the 40k universe bad, but i think it would the awful headaches you'd get from holding this much tension in your brow and jaw.

When it turns out Galactus has a Georgian accent it will all make sense.

What's so weird about this is that Boy shows us Dahl had loads of friends, was always up to stuff with his mates, but chose to never write about children living like that, or even being able to live like that as a happy ending.

Matilda's cruelty feels okay because she has a community to protect of people weaker than herself to protect. Most other Dahl protagonists are the weakest (although clever) people in the story. BFG/Giant Peach are about other children in abstract. Matilda is "this is for you Bruce Bogtrotter!"
oldhammerpodcast.bsky.social
What always interested me about Matilda is that its one of the few Dahl books that suggest children have community.Matilda is cruel to save her friends. Most other Dahl books are like "i see youre incredibly lonely- do you know who can solve that? Some weird old man with cursed vibes.Or a centipede

The pride when a student tells you she has based her D&D character on you followed by her explaining that "he is a grumpy old man."

I did think the definition of dragon as "Snake plus something" was interesting though.

Ive seen a real proliferation of "look at this normal moment from the war with this normal guy, arent tanks interesting?(wait, what's that on his hat?)" Facebook groups lately.

The explanation of how someone became a werewolf seemed dangerously achievable. If I'd come across a puddle of water in a wolf's footprint I'd have drunk out of it instantly.

This one. It was the superior child "history of the supernatural" book. It focused on the more corporeal monsters that scared me the most and the fact that it was a "pocket guide" implied that it was designed to be carried and flicked through for advice during a werewolf, vampire or demon attack.

social media manager who desperately wants to be released from his contract: "look what an insane advert I made Mr Adams, I guess you'll have to fire me."

Eric Adams: "No. This is good. Make one with Jaja Binks in it now."

I refuse to believe that this wasnt created specifically to respond to @nogodsnomayors.com

"They can't do weird flight of fancy bits about me if my own output is the most insane flight of fancy you've ever seen first"

Also classic forgetting empire =bad, rebels =good. They know what theyre doing

Getting my health advice from a guy who constantly sounds like he's about to say "Rosebud" and drop a snow globe.

impossible to watch RFK Jr. speak for more than 5 seconds and come to any conclusion other than that he is the least healthy person on the planet
