Yeah I think he's kind of a person people can project the Labour party they want onto.
Not sure they'd get it if he ran.

Personally the main person I'd like to get th leadership is Miliband but don't think he wants it.

Final point.
Some groups and people put Andy Burnham as the once and future king.
But do I really trust the electoral savvy of a guy who has been outflanked and outmanuvred by Jeremy Corbyn and Keir Starmer?

Plus while the leadership queries around Starmer don't end now at least it paused it for a minute with constant Andy Burnham speculation.
In a way kind of mad that this has been the leading UK story after the last week of the global order beginning it's slow implosion

Reform mayor could rip up so much of what Burnham has done in the last few years. Destroying the very Manchesterism he's built his recent career on.
Or even worse. Could do nothing and claim credit for the work Burnham has done over the last few years.

He's never going to be prime minister now?

Bad that Labour even could lose it but what would Burnham think getting his seat in parliament not winning the leadership then having a reform mayor reverse the very Manchestism he's built his recent career on?

I do think for a government that is focused on improving devolution and local government, losing a single parliamenty seat is better then losing control of the entire Manchester mayoralty.
Imagine the damage reform could do with that?.

I don't know how this ends and what can reverse it.
But god bless the people of Minnesota putting their lives on the line to fight off this hate

There's a trend of Labour almost rans for acting like Britain has a Presidential system: David Miliband, Burnham, even Roy bloody Jenkins. Skipping out of Parliament, whatever you go and do, is usually a bad idea if you want to be a party leader or PM.
