I think it's the difference between "national leadership" and local boots on the ground parts of the SA. I can say the same about many organizations that way.

Locally, it's all about serving people in the best way possible. Nationally? I don't know, I only know what I see.

Note that I'm not affiliated with the SA or anything like that. I just volunteer with organizations where I can directly see the results and directly help people face to face.

Mostly food pantries, because I believe we as a country have the resources to fix this shit if we had the will to do so.

This was for the food pantry, coats 4 kids, Christmas toys, summer kids lunch program.

I can't speak for other locations. I volunteered for the programs I mentioned above, so I can't speak for other things.

I just know what I've seen & experienced - people getting the help they need.

Yes, they are a Christian-based organization, but my experience of volunteering at least once a week for a year and a half did not include any discrimination.

Intake questions were about income, household size, where one was living/staying. Not about sexual identity/orientation, faith.

A good goal for next year is more reviews, but I’ll be damned if it’s on any project that uses AI. Fuck that shit.
