David Holt does this is because he desperately wants to be elected to statewide office & he (vainly) hopes that if he criticizes Trump without mentioning Trump by name he might be able to win a future GOP primary for attorney general (GOP primary voters will never support a guy who opposed Trump).
It's too cute by half that Mayor Holt would make a presidential endorsement w/out actually saying the name of either candidate (though he's clearly indicating he views Trump as an incompetent bigot).

Remember how the legislature gerrymandered OKC so badly that parts of Tulsa & OKC are now in the same district? It's because the GOP is afraid of OKC's voters. They know how many of us are eager to support a democrat; so they gerrymandered OKC to deny us even the chance to elect one.

High speed police chases endanger the community & are mostly unnecessary given tracking technologies. But cops keep recklessly undertaking high speed chases because they think it's fun & cool; as a result an innocent college cheerleader is dead & her mother has been hospitalized.

To conservatives freedom is when your child's school budget gets looted in order to give handouts to wealthy private schools.
Tyranny is when conservatives are forced to recognize that people of all races, religions, and sexual orientations deserve to be treated fairly.

It's very telling that when left-leaning accounts want to confront people they dislike what they're saying is that they should be heckled in public. But when LibsokfTiktok thinks of confronting people she can only interpret that as "commit murder."

The biggest part of this to remember is that the official investigation of this by Oklahoma schools will be led by a raging bigot who has loudly and proudly and repeatedly declared his disgust for trans people. Any report from Walters of what happened should be viewed with great skepticism.
I'm sure what will happen is like... a couple of small details of the Nex Benedict story won't have been perfect from the start and that'll be what the right hides behind, successfully turning it into an argument over semantics and journalism as opposed to an argument about what their hate causes.

Ryan Walter's political career is built around spreading fear about minorities and therefore people like Chaya Raichick are extremely useful to him as she constantly stokes the flames of anger. It's why Walters rewarded her with an appointment to the State Dept. of Education.
Chaya Raichick's public profile is entirely built around constructing campaigns of harassment to intimidate and silence anyone who expresses a gender identity or political outlook which makes her uncomfortable.
