Landlord / Property 'Influencers' were a big part of why I deleted various social media accounts but Moving with Charlie is definitely on the more unhinged side of the aisle.

Even if these new episodes were as good as S3-8, it is now just a bog standard cartoon among many. The main reason I watched the show to begin with was because it was on BBC2 after dinner during my pre-teen years and I'm sure I'm not atypical.

The touches in opposition box tells everything (and has only got better for Brentford). Look as flimsy as City did last season and tbh, they don't look great in transition going forward. Doesn't add up to much!

Perhaps this is just a longstanding bias of mine but think she's the greatest argument for proscribing the Cambridge Union.

On Ange/Forest, Seb speaking good sense: Marinakis wants Forest to be a CL team and hasn't taken account role in food chain. Barry wrong, Ange reputation has taken a big hit, particularly because of Spurs last couple PL months.

You do. I know people talk about money and there's only 20 PL jobs but this is the kind of stint that basically will stop him managing in the PL/a big Euro league again. Maybe not foremost among his thoughts as a man of 60 but his reputation has suffered.

I think it's the kind of fact whereby knowing it straddles a fine line between Cliff Clavin pub bore and "he/she/they knows all sorts" affection from friends and family.

So many people here will either defend it with "i live in America, who am I to tell other countries how to live?" And the rest will do the Krusty the Clown "let's just say it moved me... to a bigger house". All of them full of shit.

No wish to downplay as it horrifies me but in many ways does feel like "X German Bombers in the Air" nationalism in many cases and I feel like EDL is the bridge from that (80s hooliganism) to now

Beardell? Or Woodland? When i lived on Leigham Court Rd a couple of years back, our main drinking area was CP so must've taken a similar photo dozens of times... only beaten by the view from Kirkdale/Sydenham Road looking over Dulwich for me

Are they definitely closing? Last I read in local news few weeks back was that they had bought a pub in Helmsley and would go from there though if they hadn't at least identified a site for relocating brewery itself, can understand why it might be the end.

When I'm optimistic, I think "Reform too radical, too Trumpist, too out there, too hubristic, gone too hard too early given election 3.5 years away, other parties will get it together" but if the others are missing free hits like this now, difficult to be confident that this will change...

Beyond sharing the dismay, am horrified and fascinated by Linehan. Frightening how in real time one man became so radicalised and kept doubling down to become so extreme (as you say, a Stormfront-ish character). What addled the brain so much?

January wasn't best time to go but had 48 hours in Portland some time pre-Covid and loved it. If I could've worked out how to find work there, I'd have moved like a shot.

Was there anything specific that went wrong for Pivo? I remember it being a nice little 'afters' to the Sutton Arms but as you say, came and went very quickly.

You've actually got a photo there that looks even more like Guardian Blind Date

As much as I enjoy Acorn beers, I have no frame of reference but in fairness, those who swallowed the spa town premium did raise the pub banter quotient to an acceptable level

I'm sat having a late morning pint in Harrogate Tap and a train load of Barnsley fans (I presume for a pre-season friendly) have come in, then half have left after seeing the price list and doing a proper "ow much" and complaining about North Yorkshire so "performative anti-" is about right.

Leaving aside my parochial distaste of Lincs (evil neighbours of my E. Notts home), the only game in town in that county in my lifetime is Agriculture and whatever Siemens are doing in terms of renewables (plus Lincoln Uni and some legacy steelworks) so to want to kneecap a third is an odd take.

A running bugbear this. As someone who isn't very Irish beyond my surname, I end up sounding like Gerry Adams having to retype an application or the apostrophe causing issues with online logins because it gets to some weird character. It's already an Anglicised surname!

The anachronism of playing all these warmup games as though it's an era where you had to travel by boat is really striking.

You're right though! I like the songs, but genuinely do not understand the ABBA Voyage thing. Lots of well-heeled senior managers in my work make a full weekend of it (train to London, Fri/Saturday hotel and the show) and I just think "but it's holograms?"

Mine is an ongoing case but I would say this is basically the base case and getting approval for e.g. such as windows will cost significant £, require specialist consultants/architects and joiners, and require familiarity with Local Plans.
