Yes, but then it means people with lower income can't travel at all. I'm just saying it's not surprising that young people don't travel much by train- DB in Germany is a horror and super expensive. Austria at least has great discounts for students and those under 18 y.o.

I mean- when you have RyanAir tickets going for 8€ from Vienna to Manchester... Speaking from a student's perspective- totally unaffordable.

I'm not surprised... The tickets for these sleeper trains are almost always just as expensive as flights, and there are no real regulation for women's safety on board.

It’s good for science and scientists.

It’s a responsible use of taxpayer dollars.

It requires resisting peer pressure to submit to Nature journals.
