Honestly, all musical theatre is a compromise on quality. If you want good music, go to a concert. If you want good acting/writing see a play. If you want inferior versions of both, but simultaneously, check out musical theatre.

destructive jobs aren't better than no jobs. the world is no better if we start paying people to destroy post boxes, even if that does create jobs in the breaking/fixing post boxes industry. and gambling is worse than busy work, it's actively poisonous and expensive to society for no gain
