What a victory! Today MPs narrowly backed our bill to cut the Brexit red tape and end this economic nightmare.

The PM must listen to Parliament and the public, drop his self-imposed red lines and go for growth with a new customs union.

Today is our chance to support our small and local businesses that help our high streets and communities thrive.

Liberal Democrats are calling for a 5% cut to VAT on hospitality to revitalise the high street, cut the cost of living for customers and help small businesses thrive.

The Tories botched Brexit deal has left us £90 billion worse per year.

The Lib Dems have a plan for a Customs Union with the EU that would bring around £25 billion to the economy.

The Lib Dems will bring a vote on this next week and I hope Labour backbenchers will support us.

Why is the Prime Minister ignoring his own Chief Economic Advisor, who recommended a Customs Union with the EU to boost growth?

Instead he's choosing to hike taxes in a cost of living crisis.

UK tax revenue is down £90bn thanks to Brexit.

I imagine the Chancellor could have done with that last week!

It has never clearer what a mistake Brexit was, and that the Government urgently need to accept the Lib Dem proposal to seek a bespoke customs union with the EU.

Nigel Farage has spent £1m taking out adverts in the papers to distract from the Nathan Gill Russian bribe scandal.

We can't let him buy himself out of this. We need an investigation into Russian influence in our politics.

Regarding the Gill (and potential others) Russian bribery case..

A person in a very senior role at the European Parliament has told me the UK authorities have not contacted the Parliament to ask for information, records etc.

As both a former Crown Prosecutor and former MEP, I'm surprised by that.

Who’s funding Reform – and why?

Reform has received almost £5m from wealthy donors since 2023, including those with links to fossil fuels, the financial services industry and tax havens, openDemocracy can reveal.

These are the wealthy funders who’ve given Reform £5m
