#Comics folks, I need you to pull up to this one.

The world sucks right now, and we have the opportunity to do a little bit of good for a displaced and marginalized member of our community. Please join me in supporting this KS campaign!

www.kickstarter.com/projects/den...
If you're somebody who values supporting marginalized voices in comics, here's your chance to put your money where your values are!

The writer of this RINGO NOM’D INDIE COMIC (and a very dear friend of mine) is a Syrian Refugee who has been through more continuous hardships than I have space to list here; constantly navigating visa applications, unstable living conditions, predatory landlords (limited options as a refugee).

Anas just wants to make comics and live a normal life like what so many of us take for granted. Backing this campaign will help Anas to take the next step toward freedom and autonomy, helping to fund a move to another country with more stable employment options. This is truly one of the most important comics purchases you will ever make.

Middle Eastern and North African comics creators are some of the most underrepresented in the comics industry of the western world. Anas isn’t running a GoFundMe to support this move, and is not asking for charity. Simply, Anas is using their talent for storytelling, along with Dennis’ gorgeous art, to offer you a beautiful experience in the comics medium, that also goes toward funding a better life for Anas.

I’m so proud of Anas, and humbled by their experiences and perseverance. I would like to see Anas’ Dream realized, and I’d love to see this community help to make that happen. Please join me in pledging to the Etheres Kickstarter campaign! (link below). Etheres cover B

Pen drawing of a ghostly upper torso, neck, head and shoulders of a bald human emerging from a mass of organic shapes that suggest organs, musculature, veins and other structures. Facing left it is looking with solid white eyes and a third eye towards an area of alien writing and shapes in white on a black background next to what appears to the left half of a viewer facing grey style alien being in an embryonic pose in a container and hooked up to wires and is propped up by the same structure of the background

I like to use this picture to point out I've worked on official comics featuring both these folks.

Hey, here's that time I sang a song about being loaded with antidepressants, but not enough, cos I was severely suicidal at the time!

I'd love the bloated corpse of AI to be in my driveway tomorrow. That'd be peachy. I'd even give it the old finger-guns.

“The moment you entered the graveyard, the scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears.

Scratched, cracked rock betray their years.

How long have I been here, I wonder.

The stones know, waiting to tear me asunder."

Come forth, Baron Crescendo! Let your guitar split the sky open, for more wraiths to dazzle us!

Behold, a note from him, for you!

“The moment you entered the graveyard, the scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears.”

Finish it! With word of rhyme, before we dance to the end!

#HorrorWritersChat
Art by Jelle Husson, featuring a haunted monastery of many sharp-tipped towers scraping at the midnight sky. The largest is in the centre of the structure’s roof, whose walls are painted white. The monastery is located above a hilly terrain of dark stone and dark green moss. A stony, twisting road leads to the monastery.

Question Four

There he is! Baron Crescendo! Oh how the skies split open to his guitar, how more of us fly in the air! And look, a note from him, just for you!

“The moment you entered the graveyard, the scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears.”

Well? Go on! Word or rhyme, continue his Muse!

I just left my LCS, where I was asked if I'd done anything this week. I pointed at Mary Sue and was like, "uh, that one." And the clerk was like, "oh, that was my podcast partner's pick of the week!"

So take the advice of that guy's podcasting partner and buy Mary Sue #1, is what I'm saying.

💗 Happy Mary Sue Day 🧛🏻‍♀️

This is a love letter to fandom, to those who stay up late reading fic, who still argue for your favorite ship, who found themselves in stories.

I still listen to a lotta de la Soul, Black Sheep, Two Too Many (that's a deep cut) and others.

Even though I'm a hapa Pinoy boy from Vermont (yes, I can do the accent) I had a friend who listened to a ton of R&B and rap, so I got into really (now) obscure acts, like Brotherhood Creed.

At first I was going to say no, but then I googled, and yes, I definitely have. Not recently, but I do remember them.

Right now, I'm all about the folklore spirits. My current project deals with local ghosts and supernatural happenings, so I've been doing deep dives on some of the ghosts of the past, from train accidents, to haunted covered bridges, to Native spirits.
greethewriter.bsky.social
Listen to the Symposium’s finest vocalist, as their tenor bends the living into unnatural angles and swivels them into the air! Tell us, what ghosts do you prefer? Of the folkloric tradition, or those invented by authors? And why?
#HorrorWritersChat
Question Three

Art by Jelle Husson, featuring a haunted monastery of many sharp-tipped towers scraping at the midnight sky. The largest is in the centre of the structure’s roof, whose walls are painted white. The monastery is located above a hilly terrain of dark stone and dark green moss. A stony, twisting road leads to the monastery.

It is always a delight to see our violinists perform! How the living bend their splintering bones as they float above us all! Tell us, our ghostly compatriots – which of us are better? Of the folkloric kind? Or invented by our shadowy creators?

As of late, it's anyone that shares my particular anger and/or depression or past.

Goes against the current convo, as he's white as hell, but Noah Kahan has been one of those people cos he literally had some of the same upbringing, being from 26 minutes away from me.
